山岸凉子
Yamagishi is a Japanese mangaka and part of the Year 24 Group. She made her professional debut in 1969 with "Left and Right", a short story published in Ribon Comic, a spin-off magazine of Ribon. As a child, Yamagishi studied ballet, which plays a part in many of her works. In 1983, she won the Kodansha Manga Award in the shoujo manga category for Hi Izuru Tokoro no Tenshi. In 2007, she won the 11th Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize for Maihime Terepsikola.
