She made her debut in Monthly Princess Special August 1987 issue with "7 Tsuki wa Garasunoribon (7月はガラスのリボン)".
Okamoto worked on her own version of the shoujo series Corrector Yui which spawned several volumes (While the Asamiya version only got two).
She also worked in Cute Beat Oshare Club!, which was first published in the manga anthology Nakayoshi - the original home of Sailor Moon.
She was also the writer and illustrator for the manga, Yuzu.
Tokyopop's release of Corrector Yui is her first publication in the United States.
