He started working for a television commercial production company. He won the Honorable Mention in Ax Manga New Face Award for "Enrique Kobayashi's El Dorado" (Episode 1 of "Last Waltz") in 2000 and thereafter has published full-length books with regular consistency. His "Toroimerai" won the 2008 Tezuka Osamu New Spirit Award. In 2020, he won the Grand Prize in the Manga Division at the 23rd Cultural Agency Media Arts Festival for "Robo Sapiens Zenshi." His artistic influences include Kurt Vonnegut, Robert Altman, and Sergio Leone.
