Mizuki Yoda graduated from the Tokyo Designer Gakuin Manga Department. At the age of 19, they received the Honorable Mention and Grand Treasure Award in the 91st Jump Treasure Newcomer Manga Award (January 2015) for the work "Jigoku no Sata mo Ryuu Shidai". The judge for the award was [Takeshi Obata](https://anilist.co/staff/96888/Takeshi-Obata). It was published in Jump Next #3 (Shueisha) in 2015, marking their debut.
