Akane Torikai is a Japanese mangaka. She entered the manga industry after graduating from art school and working as an assistant for [Minoru Furuya](https://anilist.co/staff/98466/Minoru-Furuya). Torikai made her professional debut in 2004, publishing short stories in magazines including Bessatsu Shojo Friend and Be Love. She has since become known as the author of [Sensei's Pious Lie](https://anilist.co/manga/100973/Senseis-Pious-Lie) and [Jigoku no Girlfriend](https://anilist.co/manga/100970/Jigoku-no-Girlfriend).

She was previously married to the mangaka [Inio Asano](https://anilist.co/staff/97836/Inio-Asano).
