Kuniya is described in episode 10 of the second season as "Library commitee member, hates losing. Supposed to appear as a rival character to Jun Kudō, but his strange clothes and interest in Ai Kaga are now his most notable traits." His fashion sense is terrible; a scene in the manga showed strange underwear hanging from his balcony. His name comes from the Books Kinokuniya chain.
