D's relationship with J isn't that deep, but he is horrified by J's antics and is the only straight-laced demon in the series.

His design is based on eringi, the king trumpet mushroom. The incense children are born from D's flower head, he's an incense demon who manipulates aromas and feeds himself on the highly-strung nature of demons. He manages a brothel for demons.
