Neil is the main character of both the donghua and the manhua, as they both start with him going to China to live at 1031 All Saints Street.

Neil is a young demon with wavy white hair and brown, short, and blunt horns. He has goat ears, as it is his true form and a red pointy tail. His eyes are golden, even if they're a bit darker in the donghua. For his clothes, he chooses rather comfortable ones. He usually wears multi-colored sweatshirts with a shirt underneath.

Neil is a naive character, being new to the mortal realm. When he first shows up in China, he wears traditional clothing (a tangzhuang), not knowing people don't regularly wear it. Neil loves China and is naturally curious, therefore he regularly tries to learn more about its culture. Due to these traits, he spends much of the early manhua getting into trouble, though he becomes more comfortable in his new settings later on. Despite being a demon, Neil is incredibly kind and wouldn't hurt a soul... unless he's eating one. He also is a bit of a doormat and lets people order him around in unfair ways. Neil leaves his home country, Australia, and moves to Beijing. He's headstrong, leaving his home against his parents' wishes for him to become an office worker in hell. Neil was an outcast as a child, often being bullied because he wasn't evil enough. He was never good at school, never being able to complete evil actions. His brother [Nick Hoult](https://anilist.co/character/163160/) didn't help with this situation either, often bullying him as well. This leads to a strained relationship between the two.
